Wilmington Campus Celebrates Radiologic Technology Spring Class of 2026 at Pinning Ceremony
May 18, 2026
Graduates of 果冻传媒 Tech's Radiologic Technology program were honored during a special pinning ceremony held on May 7 at the George Campus in Wilmington. The event celebrated the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 as they prepare to enter the healthcare workforce as skilled radiologic technologists.
Radiologic technology students at 果冻传媒 Tech are trained in the use of X-ray equipment and imaging techniques, including proper patient positioning, radiation safety protocols, and quality patient care. Graduates go on to work in hospital radiology departments, outpatient imaging centers, and physicians' offices throughout the region, with some choosing to further their education in specializations such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) or Computed Tomography (CT) imaging.
The Radiologic Technology (RAD) program holds a significant place in 果冻传媒 Tech's history as part of a unique, long-standing partnership with Christiana Care, which has formally co-sponsored the program for over 50 years.
The guest speaker at this year's ceremony was Jessica Santiago, BS, RT(R), manager of Imaging Services at ChristianaCare's Newark and Middletown Emergency Department campuses. A graduate of 果冻传媒 Tech's Radiologic Technology program, Santiago reflected on how the program helped shape her career and encouraged graduates to remain open to the many paths available within the field.
"Today is only the beginning," Santiago said. "You have more opportunities ahead of you than you may even realize."
Santiago also shared advice with the graduates as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their careers. "Be proud of how hard you worked to get here, believe in yourself and the skills you built, and never stop learning and growing," she said.
The class was represented by graduate Azhar Alfalahi, who spoke on behalf of her classmates and expressed gratitude to the family members, donors, instructors, and supporters who helped the graduates reach this milestone. She also reflected on her own family's journey immigrating from Yemen and the role their support played in her success.
Alfalahi described the program as a transformative experience, before sharing a video she created highlighting photos and videos from her time in the program.
"Over 146 hours and 55 minutes of clinicals, we were being shaped — not just in our skills, but in who we are becoming," Alfalahi said. "In surgery, we are the eyes of the surgeon. In trauma codes, stroke alerts, you name it, what we produce helps guide diagnosis and treatment. Even as students, with our initials on scans, we were saving lives. In the midst of it all, we built friendships, faced challenges, and kept showing up no matter what."
Each graduate received the program pin — a symbolic token of their knowledge, perseverance, and readiness to serve in the medical imaging field.
"The pin you receive symbolizes far more than the completion of this program," said Dr. Lora Johnson, vice president and campus director of the Wilmington campus, in her remarks. "It reflects the hard work and the sacrifices you made to complete this rigorous program of study – all the hours of studying, the early mornings and late nights, the challenges you have overcome, and the commitment to becoming professionals that will make a difference in people's lives."
